Nigella Quick Collection App is Global Number One Hit for The Random House Group

Nigella Lawson has served up a successful launch for her publishers The Random House Group with her new cookery App going straight to number one across the globe.

Nigella’s Quick Collection - an outstanding cookery App for the iPhone and iTouch – launched on Saturday, April 17th and went straight to the top spot in the Lifestyle Apps chart in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Nigella said: “I have been thrilled at the warm response.”

Quick Collection is Nigella’s first App and is the result of a unique collaboration with her long-term book publisher The Random House Group. Innovative functions include a ground-breaking voice control function to navigate the recipes – believed to make it the world’s first hands-free cookbook – and the ability for users to share what they are doing in the kitchen via Facebook connect. It boasts more than 40 minutes of audio and video content, 70 recipes, imaginative search functions, the ability to email and print out recipes and shopping lists and much more. Users can browse, plan and shop for meals quickly and easily when out and about, or just in need of last minute help.

Quick Collection was produced by Random House Digital and developed by AKQA an independent ideas-led agency and launched with a simultaneous global release co-ordinated by The Random House Group.

The Random House Group is the first UK publisher to devise, develop and launch a cookery App in collaboration with an author and Nigella’s Quick Collection App will be actively marketed by Random House Canada, Random House Australia, Random House New Zealand and by Hyperion in the US.
